Lobby Espresso Review

On Tuesday last week my Mum and I decided to go to Lobby Espresso because it was quite a bit warmer inside than it was outside and because the week before we had walked past it and the food looked nice. I have to admit that I forget the name of what my Mum and I ordered (they can be seen in the pictures above) but we both thought the food was nice  and the drinks (Coffee and a Hot Chocolate) were ok though a bit expensive, that being said the atmosphere of the place was great and the service was good. I would recommend Lobby Espresso to people though be prepared to pay a bit more for a nice lunch.

Though I can’t remember the name of what we ordered they were both really nice and something that both of us would get again if we were to back again and have lunch (see the pictures of what we got above). We were both given knives and forks which was good and usually helps you eat whatever it is that you have ordered, and it did for my Mum though for me it didn’t (I’m not sure if this was due to what I had being a bit toasted or it being a different type of bread) because when I went to cut what I ordered the filling spewed out the side, despite this it was still really nice and I would get it again.
Along with the food that we ordered my Mum and I both ordered drinks, my Mum got a Flat White and I got a Hot Chocolate both were ok and enjoyable to drink though they did add to the cost of lunch which ended up being more than what was spent on lunch in previous weeks. Though the price was a bit expensive the atmosphere of Lobby Espresso more than made up for it.
Though the food and drinks were a little on the expensive side the atmosphere of Lobby Espresso was one of the best out of the places that my Mum and I have had lunch. It had big windows which allowed the sun to stream in, it had quite comfortable chairs to sit in and you could look out the window and see the viaduct and the water of the Waitemata Harbour. On top of all of this it was quite a bit warmer inside than it was outside which was really nice because a few places we went to in previous weeks sheltered us from the wind but were still a bit cold, so the warmth of the place was an added bonus.
The service at Lobby Espresso was good, the staff were friendly and my Mum and I did not have to wait long at all for our food and drinks to arrive which is good if you don’t have a long lunch break. It was also good because we have been to places in the past where our order has been forgotten (fortunately this doesn’t happen often). The good service was another one of the good things about the place and is another one of the reasons I would go back and have lunch there.
If I had to rate Lobby Espresso I would give it a 6 out of 10 because the food that my Mum and I ordered was really nice and didn’t take long at all to be brought out, the service was good and the atmosphere was one of the best of the places that we have been to lunch. I would recommend Lobby Expresso for people who have a short amount of time for lunch and who want a really nice atmosphere and good views while they eat.
