A&W Root Beer: A Short Review

Recently I tried a can of A&W Root Beer for only the second time ever and I have to say after I had finished it my opinion of it was mixed. The smell of it reminded me of mouth wash and to a smaller extent the taste of it did as well, but to be fair once I had got past that it didn’t taste to bad and was kind of nice. Having not had A&W Root Beer from an A&W restaurant I can’t say if it tasted like it did because it was in a can (and produced by the American Manufacturer Keurig Dr Pepper)  or whether it would taste the same regardless of whether it was in a can, a bottle or a cup, so the next time I am in Canada or the U.S. I’d like to try all three to see if there is any difference in taste.
If I had to rate A&W Root Beer, I would give it a 6 out of 10. The reason being that despite the initial smell and some of the taste it was not to bad and it was nice enough that I would drink it again in future, and though it would not be my first choice for a soft drink it is something that I would recommend to people who have not tried Root Beer before and to those going to an A&W restaurant in Canada and the United States.
