My review of the final two episodes of the final season of The Big Bang Theory

I have been a massive fan of The Big Bang Theory for quite a while and so I was excited but also a little sad when I finally watched the last two episodes of the final series. The series had been leading up to Dr. Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) and Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler (Dr. Mayim Bialik) winning a Nobel Prize for their discovery of super asymmetry, so it wasn’t hard to guess what some of the last two episodes would be about and as it turned out they did win a Nobel Prize which was nice to see.

The final two episodes in the series featured all of the regular cast such as Penny, Sheldon, Leonard etc as well as one of the more minor characters of the show the owner of the comic book store Stuart (Kevin Sussman) who as always is quite a funny character and for the first time on screen we got to see Howard (Simon Helberg)  and Bernadette’s (Melissa Rauch) kids Halley (Sailah Nicol) and Michael (Nate Ash) who looked older than I  expected them to be. The Bing Bang Theory like a lot of other sitcoms has had its fair share of guest stars on the show, my personal favourite being Sarah Michelle Gellar who appeared on the final episode of the of the series during the plane scene and at the Nobel Prize ceremony both times sitting next to Raj (Kunal Nayyar).

I thought the plot of the last two episodes of the series was quite good and was thoroughly enjoyable, it was great to see Sheldon and Amy finally get a Nobel Prize and to find out that Penny was pregnant with her first child as well as the elevator in Penny, Sheldon, Leonard and Amy’s apartment building was finally fixed.  That being said however parts of the plot in my opinion were kind of obvious because previous episodes had been building up to it, and the way they ended it was good but left it open  to do more series which given this was the final one ever I didn’t think was such a good idea.

If I had to give the final two episodes of the series a rating out of ten, I would give them an 8 out of 10. The reason being that as stated previously I found them to be thoroughly enjoyable as well as funny, but I wouldn’t rate the episodes any higher because I think they were too much like a mid-season  episode and I thought the writers of the show would have done a bit more for the final one’s ever. If you haven’t seen them yet I would highly recommend watching them and afterwards watch the main casts appearance on The Late show with Stephen Colbert which can be seen on the YouTube video below.
